The 12 week advent calendar challenge and activities a 100 days before Manica's centennial anniversary is revving up as each division comes up with some creative ways to meet the challenge.
These include visiting schools to give learners some insight about the type of jobs to be found in logistics. The Manica IT team visited Duinesig High School and gave some career guidance to several grade 11 classes about what maritime logistics is, IT jobs in logistics and the potential opportunities within the Manica Group.
At Walvis Bay Private School the Woker freight Services Team was greeted by over 200 kids from Grade 9,10 and 11. The team provided a glimpse of what clearing and forwarding entails.
At the Rennies Container Depot, learners of SS De Duine were treated to a tour of the facilities and learned more about the type of jobs there are in warehousing. The Highlight for them was seeing one of the female Rennies staff driving a forklift, as well the ladies working at the depot. For some it was the first time seeing containers, reach stackers and such a busy environment.
