Monjasa meets increased bunkering demand

Posted: 08 Feb 2024Category: Operations

Monjasa Namibia has seen a rapid increase in bunkering demand over the last few weeks. Recently the company supplied heavy fuel to a number of vessels including a luxury passenger liner (800 tonnes of IFO and 500 tonnes of MGO). The supply vessel Monjasa Reformer was allowed to come into port and alongside the passenger liner that was moored at the quay to pump over the fuel.

The Monjasa Reformer also provided 300 tonnes of IFO fuel to a chemical tanker offshore of Walvis Bay and 560 tonnes of IFO to a product tanker at anchorage. Monjasa Trader provided fuel to a bulk carrier (399.9 tonnes of IFO).

Recent events in the Red Sea that has caused more vessels being diverted around Africa leading to the subsequent increase of vessel traffic in west Africa prompted Monjasa to dedicated three of its bunker delivery vessels to Namibia.
