MS Europa 2 calls on Luderitz

Posted: 16 Feb 2022Category: Operations

Luderitz Bay Shipping & Forwarding attended to the first passenger ship, MS Europa 2 to call on the Port of Luderitz for 2022. This is the second passenger ship calling on Luderitz since the 2020 COVID outbreak. LBSF attended to all the ships agency and husbandry needs of both vessels.

Passenger ships are often time sensitive, and a ships agency needs to be on its game to ensure a mind-boggling array of services are provided within a tight deadline.

LBSF provided the pre-arrival planning for the ship's port call, furnishing the correct documentation to relevant authorities (DMA, port health, customs, immigration, NPA, police), ships customs clearances, port health procedures, immigration procedures, special permissions (like painting, bike excursions, lifeboat drills); all the while keeping all relevant stakeholders informed and updated on information like ETA, sailing time.

The MS Europa 2 entered service in May 2013 and was built at the STX Europe shipyard at St-Nazaire, France. MS Europa 2 has 251 passenger cabins, seven restaurants and six bars, a 15-metre-long pool, a gym, a spa and even two golf simulators

This luxury cruise ship's next port of call is Walvis Bay.
