Manica companies were quite active with various heavy lifts and break-bulk or abnormals in the last few days. Woker Freight Services dealt with the customs clearance, Rennies took care of storage and transport while Walvis Bay Stevedoring also assisted with the discharge from the vessels. Notably among these projects, were the importation of new milling drums from Italy. Other cargo included specialised PVC pipe manufacturing machines from China and large wire reels.
At the same time the second unique sulphur ship-to-quay bagging operation started. The sulphur is being discharged from the vessel, Dynamic Striker with grabs and dumped straight into the two bagging plants that bag and seal the 1 tonne bags immediately. A record 1,402 bags were filled in the first shift!
