Woker Freight Services assisted with challenging task of in-transit clearance of nine 20′ Isotanks containing Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion. Due to the hazardous nature of Ammonium Nitrate the transport of this cargo was planned and handled under close surveillance of the Namibian Police Force – Explosives Control Division.

Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion Suspension (or Gel) is ammonium nitrate suspended in a liquid. The material itself does not readily burn but will readily do so if contaminated by combustible material. It will accelerate the burning of combustible material. Ammonium nitrate is used widely in fertilizers and explosives. The cargo was transported from Modderfontein through Ariamsvlei to Walvis Bay and destined for export to Matadi with charter vessel, Maria Da Paz.
