Beach clean-up for World Oceans Day

Posted: 08 Jun 2024Category: Sustainability

Safety Reps from different divisions of Manica took part in a community beach clean-up in support of World Oceans Day. The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Fisheries, Derek Klazen, and attended by the Governor of Erongo Region, Neville Andre Itope. Local residents and various businesses joined forces to clean up Independence beach of plastic, bottles and other rubbish.

The clean-up was also meant to create more awareness of the importance of protecting marine life, and how everyday actions like always throwing away your trash and keeping beach areas clean help to protect and preserve marine life and the environment.
